I love 年糕 ( Chinese Glutinous Rice Cake) - Chinese New Year Goodies

For the past few days of celebration, I have been eating a lot till  I think I have gained at least 2 kg!!!!! Chinese New Year goodies have always been very delicious , especially the pineapple tarts., pumpkin kuei, and so many more!  Of which, one of my most favorite must eat goodies is the pan fried Chinese Glutinous Rice Cake with yam and sweet potato.



Please don't think that the brown brown kuei may taste weird , you will be so wrong ! The best rice cake in Singapore in this traditional Chinese shop 大中国。



oooo...Most importantly, credits of making this dish must be given to my mummy!  She is the master chef for this dish. 


In order not to have any uncooked yam and sweet potato when frying with the rice cake, do steam the cut yam and sweet potato first! For us, we use the rice cooker to steam the yam and sweet potato!


Slice the rice cake to almost same size as the yam and sweet potato. Get ready some plain flour with water to mix with an egg. 


Yeah... Drip the sweet potato and yam with rice cake into the flour mixture and pan fried it.
