I am all in the mood to look for new place to hangout with Boo. So, after some research online for some newly open cafes and based on our feelings, we chose this young cafe which is located in Tanjong Pagar area. =))

Upon entering the cafe, we were welcome by the opened concept at the first storey of the place. Did I not mention that the kitchen is also an open concept too? It is just located beside the cash counter ~ Hahaha.. I don't know what to say, but I am quite amused! There is a second storey which is quite private with a few "nua-ing" sofas.

Looking at the Menu, the cafe specializes in all day breakfasts and some deserts. What further interested me was, from the desert section, there is a tag which says " Pay as you wish Muffin". There was nothing at that time, so i presumed those muffins are not ready yet.. so disappointing..

While waiting for our foods, I decided to do my usual cam whoring when Boo secretly sneak over my back and snatched my limelight! Humps!!

Have the dishes left you hungry? We ordered the Leek Potato baked eggs and Smoked Salmon and Mushroom Sandwiches. The Baked eggs is quite special with baked beans and tomato sauce beneath, cheesy pieces of potatoes, leek, button mushrooms and two half boiled eggs as the toppings. The combination tasted so good, surprising as I thought it would be disaster! The top layer served as ingredients to eat with the wheat beard and the slight sourish taste from tomato sauce adds favor to the whole dish.

As for the sandwiches, I would like to say the breads are the highlights! They were warm and crispy, not too dry. A pity is that the mushroom sandwich should have some sauce if not, it will be rather too normal~ ==> Statement from Boo. Boo also ordered a plate of scramble eggs and it was the slight watery type which both Boo and I love. Guess what, it costs only $1 for 1 full plate of scramble eggs! hahaha.

Last but not least, what is the point of going to a cafe without a cup of coffee? We shared a cup of "Brown" which is coffee with a tint of chocolate. I love the design on the coffee but ~ I think Brown is sweet for my taste bub. I guess that is because I love black coffee. =))

I love the front door especially it matches my outfit. ahahaha.. A date in Red ~~

I have been really itch to make some healthy and yet mouth watery foods for myself. And I finally moved my butt to do some research before trying out this pizza recipe. I have taken this recipe from iowagirl eats and modified a bit due to lack of some resources, or rather I prefer not to spend money on ingredients that iI seldom use.

Frankly speaking, the picture I took did not do any justice to the pizza! Hump~ By the way, SBC= Spinach, Bacon and Cherry Tomato!  Let's get started!!

Ingredients

12 " Pizza Dough - Yes, I am making dough! Really prayed hard it will turn out well.=)))

1/2 cup of warm water ( Not lukewarm nor scotching hot, more like hot shower temperature)
1&1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
1&1/2 cups all purpose flour maybe more for kneading
1 tablespoon sugar ( You may substitute with honey)
1 tablespoon of canola oil

Pizza Toppings

1 branch of spinach
10 cherry tomato
4 strips of bacon
1 pack of Pizza plus ( Mix of Mozzarella, Parmesan, Cheddar cheese)
BBQ sauce

Let's get going with the Dough!

Dissolve the sugar into the prepared water and add the instant yeast powder into a giant bowl and place it in a warm area. Wait for 10 minutes until the solution turns foamy, bubbles~

Pour the rest of the flour and oil into the mixture and rock & roll the mixture into a ball. Add more flour  during the 3 minutes' kneading  such that the sticky mixture will be smooth and dry.

Use a towel to cover the top of the bowl and wait for the dough to "grow" for 50 minutes to 1 hour. At the last 15 minutes, make the bacon strips to crispy lots. Yummy!! Can't wait to see my Dough!

Yeah! expanding well and ready to spread the dough into a circular shape. As I do not have any pizza pan, I wrapped the baking tray with foil and spray some oil to prevent the dough from sticking the foil surface.

Mold the dough into thin, circular shape and spread the BBQ sauce ( or whatever sauce you like) get ready for some decoration for the plain dough!

Before that, mix the spinach with some pepper, oil and salt to taste and quick fry a bit. There you go!!! Into the Oven at 220 Degree Celsius for 15 minutes. Sprinkle some cheese too!!!!!

All done!~~~ Hope you will enjoy the pizza making session!!!!
Happy New Year !!! The greetings came four days later but well at least I did not forget to do so for my first post for year 2014! =))

My after marriage life still goes on and frankly speaking nothing changes except that maybe there will be some house rules laying down soon especially for festival seasons. Anyway, that is not what I want to blog for today. So let's just cut the chase and talk about this little cozy Japanese Restaurant.

Boo and I were checking out Westgate mall which is newly opened for a month and it seems that there are many many big brand restaurants/cafes around. But I have to give credits to my Boo that it was him who saw this little Japanese restaurant.

I think one look from this picture you should have known what it specializes in! BBQ Meats!! BBQ vegetables!!! BBQ seafood! Wahhh!!!! The service staff was so nice as to offer us their private room! Looking at their Menu, other than BBQ foods, they also have hotpots and other side dishes are suitable for an enjoyable dinner with a brunch of friends after a long day's at work. * Hahaha...

Boo and I ordered some sweet cold sake to eat with the BBQ foods and hotpot we have ordered. Sounds a bit too much? Nope, it was only just right potion for the both of us! We had ordered the seafood/pork/chicken set menu C consisting of two big scallops, few pieces of chicken and pork belly plus some cabbages and pumpkin slices. Yummy yummy!

And the picture below shows our second round erhh...the BBQ pork belly slices were just so irresistible for us! All that juicy meats.. =p~~~~~~~

We were actually quite full from the BBQ meats. As the greedy duos, we still go for the hotpot without cancelling the order.

The hotpot consists of bean spouts, onions, some garlic slices and slices of chicken meat. Please do not belittle the taste of the hotpot based on the mentioned ingredients! The secret to this tasty hotpot is its soup base! Heard from the waitress, Beatrice, that the soup was made from the Boss's family passed down secret recipe!

Within minutes, Beatrice stirred the vegetables and meat into the soup and add some chili paste to make it more fragrance, as if it was not enough for me and Boo to not drool on the table!! Ooh... the bean spouts absorbed the essence of the soup, which I can just fed myself only to the bean spouts with some white rice. Nice! The chicken slices tasted like well marinated braised chicken after some time which I recommended to eat when you have almost finished the hotpot.

No words can describe the food and the warmth we felt in this cozy restaurant. I'm loving it! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
