After reading Daniel Diary food reviews, Boo and I decided to explore the small, little cozy cafe located along the heritage street near Tiong Bahru area. Upon arriving into the shop, we were greeted by the vase of white chrysanthemum flowers on the long bench located in the middle of the cafe and a little corner where interested cards and cute labels are available for sell.

Looking for the usual menu book somewhere on the table? Well, all the dishes, beverages sold here are listed down on the chalkboard and you will realize that the cozy little cafe has quite a wide varieties of food and drinks. Boo especially loves how the different kinds of coffees are presented on the board, like listing out the contents of each coffee type and what beans were used.

Whilst for me, I would rather laid my hands on the pralines sold in the cafe, but as I was down with sore throat, =(((  it will be next time round, and did I not mentioned that they also sell unique ice cream flavors like Lychee Martini too? (0.0)!!!!

While wait for the food, I made Boo to take a picture of me... posing here and posing there. hehehe..  Finally, the coffees we ordered came to us like 10 minutes later?  I had a long black while Boo gotten himself a piccolo latte.

I was surprised to see that my favorite childhood biscuits came with the coffees. Hmm... it just tasted so good when eaten with my long black as it added a little sweetness to my bitter coffee! hahaha. but I was a bit displeased that the biscuits were a bit "Lao Hong" ! But the truffle  does help to gain some points as it was tasty! Yummy! (0.0)V

Finally, our main dish, Miss Portobella Burger made its appearance! Whoohoo!! It was so excellently made!! Even a meat lover like Boo also praised this vegetarian burger! The portobello mushroom was well marinated and was further enhanced by the combination of the caramelized onions topped with melted cheese sandwiched in wholemeal burger beard... hmmmm.. yummy yet non-sinful!

As I was craving for some sweet stuffs, I went on to order a slice of cake for both of us.. ehhh.. actually I ate most of the cake.  Well, I couldn't really remember what is the cake, but I think it was a walnut cake with a slight touch of cinnamon. The service staff was very thoughtful as she politely asked me whether to heat up the cake  before serving to us. Well done! Orange Thimble!  The cake tasted normal, not too sweet, preferably eat with Long Black coffee.

See how Boo was so happy with his experience with the cafe, by showing off his pearly white set of teeth!!! We will certainly come back for more!

A trip planned 2 months ago, 4 women waiting for the opportunity to prey on Deals.com.sg, Ilovedeals.com.sg, Groupon.com.sg.. and finally we gotten ourselves a big good deal on Groupon.com!! So~ Here we go! Batam!

Thanks to Cecelia and Jenny,  they have gotten their colleague, Erni (Not sure whether it is spelled like this) a local to bring us around the town to unveil the other side of Batam we have not seen before.

The first stop is to fill our stomachs after a 50 mins ferry ride and Erni brought us to this relatively famous Seafood Restaurant  REZEKI. Upon reaching, we saw quite a crowd at the place, mostly locals and a lot of live seafood in the tanks, waiting for us to feast on them. Muahaha.

With Erni's help, we ordered the "Gong Gong", Chili Crabs x 2, Kang Gong Vegetables and the Fried Calamari and more! By the way, because of my greediness, I have forgotten to take a photo for the Dark Soya Sweet Sauce Fry Fish and the Steam Prawns! Opps.. Sorry...  If there is only 1 word to describe all the dishes, mine will be "Freshness" . I must specially recommend the Fry Fish because the fish was so well done where the skin was so crispy yet the meat remained extremely tender and coated with its secret recipe sauce ~~ Super yummy!

After the big feast, Erni drove us to a little shop which sell homemade Bo Bo Cha Cha and Goreng Pisang. As it was raining heavily, Erni went down and packed the desserts back. The Bo Bo Cha Cha reminds me of the homemade dessert which I have eaten during my childhood period. The dessert is cooked together with the tapioca, sweet potato and the chewy, cubes ( I also don't know what is that called). The Chinese traditional desserts in Singapore now, mixing the ingredients and the pre cooked BoBo Cha Cha soup together.

After eating so much food, it was time to relax our muscles! We initially wanted to try out Isabella spa because of its good reviews at TripAdvisor.  However, we did not call to reserve beforehand where Erni suggested that the place should be fully booked for the whole day. In order not to disappointed us, Erni brought us to a spa place operated by her friend! I fell in love with the place instantly mainly because of its   lime green 3-storey high building. Upon opening the door, we were immediately welcomed by the mini waterfall wall with slight cinnamon aroma at the waiting area and oh, their beautiful receptionist too..

As this would be the last stop for the day, we asked Erni to go home to her daughters while we enjoyed our 3-hr spa treatments. I took the April Promotion package which consists of the yellow lemon mint spa + Totok face + face mask at an affordable price of SGD 55!  Imagine if I would have done the same treatment in Singapore, I would have fainted when looking at the bill! After an hour's wait, the four of us were separated into 2 private rooms for our chosen spa treatments.

Well,  the room is good enough for two persons and our "steaming" was done in the room itself unlike spa secret where we have to move to the common sauna room. Most importantly, my masseuse gave really good massage as she knew exactly what to do, like pressing at the right acupuncture points at the right pressure without me feeling uncomfortable and filled with bruises. For your information, I did get multiple blue blacks after a massage/spa in China!!  After the body mask, Cecelia and I were sent to the tub for a shower. I have to say the tub does not have the Jacuzzi function and it is not as big as what spa secret has, but we enjoyed each other's company by scrubbing each other's back! Hot ginger tea was served to us after the session.

One of the many good services provided by the spa was, we were transferred back by its free transport to our hotel to end our day ...

I have been busy especially these few weeks till  I have no time to write my "Favorite" for this month~ I am really guilty about it ~~~~ Sorry for the delay !

.. Whoo (wiping my last tear away).. So here I am going to introduce some stuffs which made me felt/looked good during the month of March!

Versatile Yellow Sleeveless Top
My most favorite top of the month is.. this Yellow Summer feel top! The top part is made of slightly sheer, net like fabric while the rest of it is made of cotton which made it extremely comfortable to wear! Furthermore, it seems to be able to match with everything, from the leopard prints' skirt to the white flowery shorts I wore, portraying different styles at affordable price! The top is from SEEDS , a chained boutique in Malaysia.

Polka Dot Sweet Top
This is the top which I fell in love instantly after seeing it. Ok, pink has always been my favorite color and looking sweet is what I personally like.( ~.~ "") Although a long sleeves top but not thick, suitable for Singapore's all summer weather. Not to mention those rounded collars which simply adds cuteness to the top. I love to pair it with my dark blue ribbons' prints skirt , making me look studious and cute at the same time. Top is available at SEEDS too.

SPA FIT ( Body Shop)
As promised on my Happy birthday to me!! Post, I will review this pair of product and I certainly have to recommend the scrub!!!
Exfoliating Gel
Like its packaging, it smells and maybe? tastes like some orange jam. When used on the skin, it gives a smoothing feeling (not like some rough sea salts) and the after effects were tremendous! My skin( whole body) feels very smooth and I even dare to exfoliate my legs with it because it gives a very gentle scrub without hurting my pair of dry legs. So if you like the fruity scent and you have dry skin like mine, please try this from body shop!
Toning Gel
As for the toning gel which supposes to be applied after exfoliating the body, I would say it works well as it I did feel some tightness on my tummy when applied but the feeling doesn't stay for long. I won't say it is not good but I would rather pay more for other brands.

Natural Aqua Gel
I have been aiming this product for longest time but was put off by its pricing. Well, it is good to prepare for a wedding because it can be an excuse to convince myself to buy the bottle to remove stubborn dirt especially at the joint areas! You can see from the collage above, the white gel when giving a few rubs back and fro on the skin, little white flakes came out and the surface of my palm looks fairer. It is so gentle that the product can also be used on face too.

Hope you all like the stuffs I have introduced above to you!!

My little Pony, my little Pony.. the cartoon show is one of my favorites which accompanied me throughout my childhood. Well, of course not the version shown below. Hahahaha..  But the new version does bring back a lot of memories though.

To honor the my childhood memories, I have decided to do the My Little Pony Inspired Nails.

Rainbow Dash on my ring finger nails and Fluttershy on my thumb nails.

Hello Rainbow Dash!

The rest of my finger nails I have done a mini rainbow near the tip of the nails. You may add some polka dots to fill up the empty spaces.

One of my friend actually commented that I should do Mona Lisa nail art... after inspired by my thumb nails. hmmm.... it will definitely be added to my Nail Art list!

I have always been a fan of savory food especially the mayo egg and ham combination. Why do I love it?  First of all, it is easily prepared and quite versatile from commonly made into salads, sandwiches and even coupled with hash-brown!===> Trying to link to what I am preparing ~an opening speech! (^.^'')

Anyway, I would like to prepare this tea break/ breakfast snack in a slightly healthier way.

This is the end product I have cooked up, I hope the dish looks appealing to you !!!<3

Ingredients to use (From the left)

Pepper
Plain Yogurt
Chunks of Ham
Salted Butter
Muffin Pan 6 Cup
2 Eggs
3 Medium Size Red Potatoes
1 Clover of Garlic

Let's get started!

We will need to boil both the eggs as well as the red potatoes. You may choose to not removing the skin of the potatoes.

Cool the boiled potatoes and get ready for a bit of labour work done. As I do not have any automatic grater, I will have to use the most conventional way which is ta...ta....ta...~~

My one and only mini grater !!!!!!!!

Once done, scoop a tablespoon of the butter and heat over small fire. Mix the 1 clover of garlic into melted butter and stirred till the garlic chops turned brown color... Be careful as you do not want any "Chao Tai" garlic!!

Be prepared to use the melted butter to coat the inner of the muffin pan and the rest poured into the grated potatoes to give a faint garlic taste on the hash browns. Do add some pepper based on personal preferences. At this time, please preheat the oven at 230 degrees.

3/4 filled each muffin molds and get ready to bake those hash-brown ! Yummy yummy. Let them bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Once done, cool the pan for 2 minutes.

At this point of time, make use of the leftover melted butter we had prepared earlier to stir fried a portion of the ham and shelled the hard boiled eggs we had temporarily neglected. (=.=)

Mix the mashed eggs and ham together  with adequate amount of  mayonnaise   plain yogurt!

Put the mixture into the hash-brown with a small little tomato and you're done!

It was actually my second visit to this Korean Restaurant after like.. 4 years ago?!! Oh my god, come to think about it, it was really long between this visit from the last one.

Anyway, I came with my family again and this time round I noticed quite some changes going on like the staffing, food and some minor interior renovations.

Mum and Brother not happy as Food took quite long to be served. Hahaha................

Once a upon a time, which was 4 years ago, the eatery was solely managed by the father-son partnership and maybe one or two more "suspected" to be the family members who don't speak English and Chinese but Korean and some simple "sign" languages involved.  As their restaurant gotten more popular, quite a few other nationalities of servers and kitchen helpers were hired. Overall, the staffs are quite friendly and service orientated.

Of which, one of the kitchen helper, a true blue Singaporean, was patiently explaining the menu to the table next to mine. However, there was 1 black sheep among these friendly and hardworking servers. I was given cold shoulders and ill recommendations by one of the Filipino server. Anyway, I shall not spoil my image of Togi because of this.

OO.. the side dishes were finally here!! All were extremely well done especially the long beans were not over stir fried and the fishcake was chewy, well marinated without the sweet sauce overpowering.

The pork stew with kimchi soup was served first on the stove. There were tofu, red chili, green chili and tons of chili powder in the soup as well as huge pieces of fatty pork as well as a huge flower of kimchi which was cut by server into pieces the moment soup was served. It was very very spicy to my liking, but I don't blame anyone except the server for he did not tell us it was this spicy till I lost all my 5 senses or maybe the 6th sense too?

The rice cake was well done mixed with the fish cake, green veggies and shreds of Korean seaweeds. The saltiness of the seaweeds neutralized the sweet sauce, forming a unique tasty combination where you won't get sick of the dish!

The pancake was ordered by my younger brother which I should praise him for the good choice he had made. It was non oily and both sides of pancake were quite crispy with the authentic Korea taste.

Ohh. last but no least. did I not mentioned that the father-son occasionally still help out with the ordering and serving of food. The father is extremely helpful, like trying to give some advice to us on the food, e.g add what sauce to the noodle to improve the taste or whether I was fine when I accidentally knocked on the table before leaving the restaurant

The over all experience was good especially the food and the family feel environment..which I don't think it will take me another 4 years to return back!!

After the colorful nails for Easter's day, I decided to do a simple black ribbon design with nude color nail polish to tone down abit. Pardon my rough skin though.. hahahaha..

Hope you all like the design!!!

Below is my little vibrating bear accompanying the items needed to do this simple nail art design.

Things you need to use

Mod Hatter;NL H25; OPI
3D black color
Ultra thin nail art brush

Step 1:  Paint all the fingernails with NL H25.

Step 2: Draw two lines diagonally  across each nail using the black color; drawn with the ultra thin nail brush. You may also use a tooth pick or a black stripper to achieve the same results.

Step 3: dot a tiny dot between the two lines in the middle position and make out two circles with the dot as a guide.

Step 4: Draw two "laces" at the bottom, starting at the middle of the two circles.. and here you are, the black ribbon is done!!

Step 5: Dot the entire background with white polka dots and this is the final design~

A small tip: you may add a white rhinestone at the middle of the circles of each nail to add some glamour factors !

I know it is pretty late now, but I am still feeling very energetic which I guess is because of the "Yuen Yang" I had from Ya Kun.  Anyway, I had just finished my gathering session with my poly mates  Well, it was so difficult to meet them due to our different working schedules and stuffs. However, I am glad that we finally   make some time to meet due to Lela's back in town from Brisbane, Australia.

I think I will not mention all the details that we have chatted but generally, I feel happy for Lela finally being an Australian PR, having  " relax" working hours and a nice boss, living happily together with the boyfriend.

In fact, it feels like a dream to live there when I first heard that:

1) A 2 bedroom apartment with a swimming pool, costs about $400,000 AUD, which is equivalent to a 4 room flat ( Non Mature area) in Singapore of 99 years lease.

2) The people there are generally quite practical, not into European branded goods and they adore their local brands where Roxy and Billabong are already the "high end" brands in most's eyes!

3) Being paid weekly or bi-weekly in Australia, unlike Singaporeans having to wait pathetically for their monthly salary.

4) A brand new Mazda 2 costs only $15,000 AUD .

5) The country promotes using clean and green energy with solar and wind power efficiently.

6) Mummy(s) have flexible working hours, you may go back home as long as you have finished your work.

Despite all these, deep in my heart, I am still feeling very grateful for being a Singaporean. Like having a cute little Boo around me and my fix hours' job for me to strike a work/life balance lifestyle. Not forgetting that my family will always be close to me.  Frankly speaking, when I heard  Lela talking about her life in Australia  I do envy her for awhile, but I guess humans always think the other side will always be greener than where he/she is staying now.
