Love is in the air~~~ Happy Valentine's Day ! I would like to present the Nail Art I have created to celebrate this special day.

Get ready all the colorful nail polishes to create the style! 

I believe most of us have traveled to Hong Kong, enjoying the shopping and also the food. Other than dim sum, the most authentic place that describe best about the culture, are Hong Kong cafes! You might think that the chain of restaurants which are almost in every heartland malls are the closest you can get to curb your cravings, you will be so wrong!


With Boo's Recommendation, we decided to travel from the West to Balestier for some real Hong Kong Cafe food! Upon pushing open the glass door, I am overwhelmed by  the many canvas paintings decorating the whole place which looks like a simple place, sincerely serving good food.

Oh my.... here comes the first dish Boo and I cannot wait to indulge ourselves in!! The fish roe fried rice is so fragrant that I bet you will be addicted to the dish once tasted a mouthful. For a serving of 2 at $9 filled with fish roes and beat eggs make it yearning for more! Yummy!!~ Simple yet ... delicious!

Next came our toast which tasted so great that I thought I have packed it from Hong Kong itself! The peanut butter has immersed in between the warm toast with some honey and a cube of butter makes it so sinful yet... can't take my eyes  mouth of it!

Notice the mug? It contains the infamous 丝袜奶茶(Silk Stocking Milk Tea)! The taste is definitely different from the local HK cafes, I suspect there is addition of condensed milk to enhance the taste of the milk tea. (-.^)V

The last dish of the meal is the jade tofu with Broccoli tasted very healthy and I specially love the gravy and the tiny mushrooms plus shredded dry scallops. Yummy! The Tofu silky inside but slightly crispy outside. Solid indeed as the gravy did not turn the tofu soggy despite we finish the dish last.

All the food served are of equally high quality. Although it is not an easily accessible place, it is worth visiting this cafe and I bet you will never look back....

For the past few days of celebration, I have been eating a lot till  I think I have gained at least 2 kg!!!!! Chinese New Year goodies have always been very delicious , especially the pineapple tarts., pumpkin kuei, and so many more!  Of which, one of my most favorite must eat goodies is the pan fried Chinese Glutinous Rice Cake with yam and sweet potato.

Please don't think that the brown brown kuei may taste weird , you will be so wrong ! The best rice cake in Singapore in this traditional Chinese shop 大中国。

oooo...Most importantly, credits of making this dish must be given to my mummy!  She is the master chef for this dish. 

In order not to have any uncooked yam and sweet potato when frying with the rice cake, do steam the cut yam and sweet potato first! For us, we use the rice cooker to steam the yam and sweet potato!

Slice the rice cake to almost same size as the yam and sweet potato. Get ready some plain flour with water to mix with an egg. 

Yeah... Drip the sweet potato and yam with rice cake into the flour mixture and pan fried it. 

I know this Nail Art came a bit late, yeah it is already the 3rd day of Chinese New Year but well at least from what I know, Chinese New Year last for 15 calender days.  This is the only day I can finally get to rest at home before getting to work on Monday!

So here I am relaxing my body by using the natural republic hand and foot masks which I have kept for so long after buying them for almost a year! Hahaha... in case you are wondering,  I did check they are within their expiry date. 

The masks turned out to be really good! Both my hands and foot are instantly smoother and actually abit whiter than before. Unfortunately I do not have the before and after picture, but no worries, I will have another review of hand and foot masks soon. =p

Nail Art brush

Step 1:  Use the base coat first to all ten fingers

Step 2:  Paint all the fingers except the ring fingers with two layers.

Thumb:  Use YL702 to draw two circles, one bigger than the other one

             With the brush, draw the stem and leaves on top of the circles. 

             Finally brush lightly the golden color with the nail art brush on the red background.

             

Index finger: With WH002, use the brush tip to paint a semi circle to close 3/4 of nail tip.

                    Use a black nail polish to paint at the top of the semi circle and two little circles as the hair of                         the girl. 

                    Draw a red stroke across the little "buns". Drip some pink so that the girl has rosy cheeks. 

 Middle finger:  With WH002, use the brush tip to paint a semi circle to close 3/4 of nail tip.

                        Use a black nail polish to paint at the top of the semi circle as the hair of the boy. 

                        Paint the blue color on the black hair so that he has a hat. 

Pinky Finger: Use the black color to draw the brunches using nail art brush.
                     Dot WH002 onto the brunches and light pink into the white color.
                    Brush the gold color lightly on the red background.

Ring Finger: Paint the nail with SL211
