Day 3 - 30th Jul 13

Woooo... it was finally the last day of my short getaway and there gone the time I could just spend my money like water without much thought.. !!!

Anyway, my style for the 3rd  day in Bangkok, a bright yellow top with a pair of embroidery flower shorts.

I knew it sounded boring butl we went to Platinum Mall again for a super last min shopping and I bought a pair of fake Melissa shoes plus a Korean Inspired dress filled with metallic stars. I just love the details of this dress and best of all, made me looked very slim! hahaha. For your information, it was by far the most expensive dress which costed me SGD 80!!

A small little open secret, I indulged in the Mac Donald's sweet corn pie again.. for the past three days... **drooling*** I will just miss it sooo sooo sooo much !

We went on to Central World again and I bought two work dresses from Forever 21, a long sweater  and got my very first pair of Melissa shoes!!!! The real thing! You couldn't imagine how excited I was!!  ** Shine bright like a diamond!*** Pinky Pink !

After all the shopping and walking for the morning, we were so very hungry for carbos and decided to stop by for the must-go pizza place in Bangkok! Presenting the Pizza Company!!

My main course was the clam tomato sauce pasta which I found it tasted a bit salty and normal. I guessed spaghetti wasn't the pizza place's forte (Obviously!). However, I did try out my brother's cheese baked spinach and it tasted heavenly good, not to mention the Hawaii pizza.... ahhhh... so so so good.

With the lunch, it ended the short but fun getaway with my family.

I actually hope we would have more of such getaways to update one another's life even though we live under one roof! Sad to say, but the fast pace lifestyle and advanced technologies we have in Singapore had made us talked less with one another...

Day 2- 29th Jul 13

Morning everyone! We got up as early as 7.am to kick start the brand new day! Oooo.. yeah.. another round of shopping plus  Massage/Manicure sessions await us!

How do I look with my battle attire for more shopping and eating? hahahahhaha.. ~~~~

After a light breakfast, we decided to set off to Pratunam shopping village and Platimum Mall for some budget shopping. Well, I wouldn't say the things sold there were as cheap as before especially there were sales everywhere for at the big shopping malls. =))))) You must remember to bargain in the markets or if not, buy more pieces for discounts!

I have bought myself a night sleepwear with roses prints for my wedding morning make up!!So stay tune for that special day!!! No photo here~
We ended our morning with walking around the aera hahaha. we hired a tutu to send us to Big C as we were too lazy to walk back. I just had to snap a photo of us in the tutu taxi to memorial my youngest brother's "virgin ride".By the way, I looked fat in the picture!

It was about 11am when we arrived at Big C. I secretly went to get a sweet corn pie before my manicure session starts. My brothers went to get themselves a full body massage while mum got the same package as Day 1.

Well, although the manicurist used OPI nail polish and all these fanciful procedures; my foot were soaked in flower petals and slices of lemon, but I still feel I can do much better. Wahahah..it just reminded me how long I have not update my Nails Art part. ..

There were a lot of Chinese nationalities crowded around the store, which left me puzzled, and I realized there was a big sales on their products ! Enough said, Beauty Buffet, here I come! I had bought a bottle of day treatment repair essence and a few sheets of sheep placenta masks! I should have bought the goat milk's body moisturizer too! Hump!

Since I still had some time before my family finished their massage session, I went to get myself a terrayaki chicken ramen in soba soup for my lunch. It looked tasty but the chicken tasted more like roasted chicken! Tasty roasted chicken?! wahahahaha.. I don't know how should I describe the Ramen, wordless. ...

For your information, my second purpose to going to Bangkok was to buy some nice shirts for my brothers for my wedding day. So, I have bought them pink shirts for my cute little brothers in MBK.

My next stop to shop was Siam Paragon, which is of course located at Siam station which is only one station away from MBK ( National Stadium Station).  I decided to treat my family to Taling Pling for some Thailand cruise which was recommended by my ex Thailand colleagues. Surprisingly, the branch at Siam Paragon serves western food too.. and the Shepherd's pie was really tasty!!! Well, the rest of the food were yummy and authentic except the Tom Yam Soup, which was a bit of a disappointment.

I bet with my fats that you all have never tried this ice cream flavor in Swensen's.  The Swensen's at Bangkok will always introduce seasonal new ice cream flavors which never fail me... This summer's  theme are Teas and Coffees. I have got myself a Rum & Raisin plus Caramel and some coffee cubes at the bottom known as the Irish coffee Ice cream!!!  It was always shiok to treat yourself an ice cream in the hot weather as my last meal for the evening ~

See you all ~~ Night guys. And look forward to Part 3 ---- the last of my eating, shopping journey in Bangkok.

I am going on a short getaway with my family !!!  OMG, it has been quite awhile since my youngest brother don't seem to enjoy plane rides. However, as we love our mother so much and she always wanted us to go on a trip together, there we are, going to the "land of thousand smiles", Thailand!

It was the earliest Sunday morning as we enjoyed our Burger King's breakfast at Terminal 2 before boarding the plane at 7.20am. **Yawns**  Nice sky ~

Day 1- 28 Jul 2013

After a one hour and fifty-five minutes' flight and  plus nothera one hour's car ride to Anorma Hotel. It is the Hotel which my mother always stayed whenever she was in Bangkok. The service might not be as fantastic as the other hotels in Bangkok, it is strategically well located in the central of the big shopping malls, within walking distance to the Erwan Shine as well as the Sky train station.

Before moving to anywhere, we went to the Erwan Shine to pray for our well being and got the dancers to dance to the four-faced Buddha to repay him back for the peaceful and prosperity he had granted us for the past year.

The Shine was super crowded as it was a Sunday.  We went to Chatuchak Market for a short while  located at the Mo Chit Station. It was extremely hot even though it was drizzling that day and the shops were clamped together, leaving no air flowing through the huge tent. I was practically suffocating~

I should say we were too tried to think or move farther around, therefore, the rest of the evening we decided to take it slow by walking around our hotel area. Like the Central World. Well, it was not a bad day for me as I got to buy a dress, a rainbow blouse from Zara at SGD 58 only!!! And a cute neon pink top from FOX at SGD 15!!!!  Did I not mention that it was their GTS- Great Thailand Sales ? Muahahah..

After some shopping, the four of us were too hungry to go on.. my mother decided to have some Japanese food at the Fuji Restaurant located at Central World for dinner.

What a spread, wasn't it? ahahahaha... I had the Sashimi set for only SGD 7!!!  The Wide spread of food included the seafood Udon, the deluxe set, Tempura Ramen all at SGD 60 only!! WAH!!!

Yummy and fulling dinner we had almost made me unable to breath properly! Anyway, we went on to shop at the little stalls along the streets at around 9pm.  Dim light bulbs shone at the stalls as we chose small little accessories and bags to buy for our friends and of course myself!

Each earrings at only 20 Baht!!! And I think the quality wasn't that bad! Nice!

Our very last stop for the day was having a head, shoulder and foot reflexology for an hour costed about SGD 30 bucks! The guy, yes, a masseur gave me a good massage which really loosen my tensed shoulders as well as my tired calves' muscles. My mum did not have a really good masseuse though, but she enjoyed as much, well better than none right?

Well, Nice evening ended very well with my lovely family. OOO.. and 1 more thing, my younger brother was a bit disappointed with the fact he did not get to eat the roadside food. =)))

To be continued~~~
Hello Hanoi! I have been very busy preparing the Vietnam business trip which had left me so drained and strained in the previous week.  Hahaha.. Anyway, it was quite an enjoyable trip with my friendly Vietnamese co colleagues and I learnt a lot from the senior director and legal counsel whom were on the same trip with me.

Day 1 ( 24th July 13, Hanoi)

After a two hours' flight and an one hour car ride, I have finally reached the Melia Hotel. When the front desk told me that I was upgraded to the suite due to rooms were fully booked, It was actually not bad, considering I got a little meeting room, with two bath rooms and a big bedroom!

As it was a free day, I went to explore the nearby area, which I thought it looked like the old Saigon in Ho Chi Min City which I visited 4 years ago.

Along the streets, there are a lot of little shops selling "inspired clothing" from brands like H&M, Chanel .. etc ... you name it, they have it! hahaha..  I literally lost on the way back to hotel where I coincidentally walked past the Women's Museum.

I didn't know what exhibits are shown in the Museum but I did goggle some details. The exhibition feature the culture and challenges the Vietnamese women are currently facing especially ; with the single mothers.

Wah.. have you seen that delicious two scoops of ice creams in the cocktail glass? The taste was heavenly!! I ordered the rum & raisin and lime sorbet. A truly comfort dessert after a long walk under the hot sun. In the shop, there were at least a dozen of different types of ice cream dishes presented in creative forms. All looked good on the menu, which was a pity that I couldn't eat all. =(((

After having the little cooling dessert, I bistro-hopped to the next door for some Vietnam Chinese food which I can never can finish the food! The waiter still told me I could finish them as the potion were small. =~(((   I ordered the silk tofu with salted eggs and fried rice.

The tofu was well fried but the skin was too thick which made the tofu a little less appealing. As for the fried rice, there were tiny slices of the roast pork, peas vegetables, some Vietnamese veggies and diced Chinese sausages. I thought the Chinese sausages should be of bigger slices so that the taste will not be so hidden ~

Well, I was supposed to be enjoying the experience(maybe not so much on the food) when I realized that there was a pen cap in my Irish smell alike Vietnamese coffee!!! For your information, I have drunk 3/4 cup of the coffee! I am so being poisoned!!~~~

Anyway, my spoiled mood was slightly lit up the moment I saw a simple yet touching gesture from the hotel where the blanket corner was flipped up, a floor mat with the good night wording and a mineral bottle + glass on the desk in case I were thirsty in the mid of the night.

It was both a tiring day for me and a shocking experience from the coffee. ahahaha.. My adventure in Vietnam shall continue...

Day 2 /3 - Hanoi + Ho Chi Min City

All went well during the presentation although I was quite nervous and I could hear the trembling voice projecting out to the audiences. Well, I will try not to make the same mistake again. ahhh~

The presentation was done at 3pm, which was 4pm (SG time), I took the 7.20pm flight from Vietnam Airlines. My colleague in Vietnam had mentioned to me that the Airline has always been "famous" for earning its title as the " Delay Airlines". I thought it was meant to be a joke I got stranded in the airport for three hours due to some technical issues experienced. To think I have to change my seat on the ticket for 3 times!!!

I finally reached Ho Chi Min City at 1am plus a half an hour's ride to Renaissance Hotel. Once reaching the hotel, I am welcomed by the comfortable and clean, warm lit room...

And..... I love their pair of Slippers!!!

R for RABBIT!!!@ heheheheh... Night guys, a trip that I truly enjoyed... although my workload had pounded up.
Boo and I had been really busy with work that both of us decided to shop around the travel agencies around Chinatown area. There have been quite a few of promotions on Europe trips with at different countries and different itineraries... making us so indecisive.

But.. before deciding anything, Boo and I decided to feed ourselves with some good food! hahahah.. My craving, Dim Sum!! and  guess what, Chinatown point had fully revamped into a food paradise! We went into the Peach Garden which is well known for its' Ala Cate Dim Sum.. Whooo..

What are we have? The "Siew Mai with Fish Roe" is fresh and fair enough to eat, better than most of the dim sum in Singapore, the "Har Gao" has the freshest big chewy prawns with thin crystal skin wrapped around it... Yummy! and my favorite "Liu Sa Bao", just love the watery yellowish salted egg yolk flowing out.. from the bao the moment you bite on it!

Good food never dies!

After satisfying our cravings,  we studied through the travel brochures we took and initially decided on Chan Brothers. However, it was the uncleared itinerary that put us back a little. And.. it was until we saw EU holidays that we decided to try our luck there. Well, i think the travel agency is quite lucky to have a earnest and know what she is talking staff whom explained to us patiently about their Europe trips, and how they are different from other agencies. It was at that point of time, we decided that EU holidays will begetting our business already. ahahaha.. We chose the 13D Italy/Switzerland/France tour + 2D Dubai Stay (FOC)

The last year's literary... heard from the staff that there will be some changes after NATAs fair, hope it will be better than this.

Happy with the day.. as usual it ended well with Boo.

I am not sure what happen to me recently, but I am totally into tomato based soup or dishes which made me felt refreshed or energetic after having some of the hot food into my stomach! And that reason is sufficient for me to decide on whipping up a tomato vegetable soup and a grilled chicken with peachy cream sauce to have for my prefect dinner!

I hope these two dishes would look appealing to you !!!

Grilled Chicken with Peach Cream Sauce

Ingredients

All Purpose Flour
Peach Halves in Syrup (400g)
Chicken Fillets             4 Pcs
Whipping Cream           1/4 cup
Chicken Stock              1/2 cup
Balsamic Vinegar          1/4 cup
Spring Onions               1/4 cup
Salt and Pepper
Dry Basil

All chop chop and cleaned to go into the cooking pans! hahahaha. Let's get started with the chicken fillets first before preparing our sauce.

Marinade with pepper and salt to the fillets. Thereafter, make sure to powder the chicken fillets well to cover them completely with the all purpose flour.  Not so bad huh? =))

Heat the pan with some oil and pan fried the chicken fillets. Turn the chicken to another side , approximately 3 mins each side, until slightly brown.

And now that is the sauce I am going to make now.   Firstly, pour the balsamic vinegar into the pot and cook slowly till half with the spring onions into the vinegar. Add in the chicken stock and whipping cream into the pot and cooked till thicken. Finally, add some basil and light cook the peaches into the sauce without overcooking them.

Tomato Veggie Soup

Ingredients

Chicken Broth 300g
Tomato Diced  250g
Tomato Paste   50g
1 Cauliflower
2 Carrots
1 Huge Potato
Slices of Button Mushrooms

Throw the chicken stock and tomato sauce plus diced tomato into the pot till heated. Next, add the cut vegetables into the pan and let them stewed in the pot. And you got the end product after 30 mins!! You may add some pepper and basil to taste.

Hope you enjoy the food like me!!!!!<3

TGIF! Oh yeah, I can finally let down my hair for some fun with Boo tonight. We were thinking of going to Muhan Korean Restaurant to enjoy some BBQ meat and rice wine.

However, we were both so disappointed when we saw the big "Close" signage hanging out from the restaurant . Wild guesses were made between the two of us of what could have happened to our favorite eatery!!! At that point of time, so coincidentally, a man from the next shop told us that the eatery was closing down temporary for some serious renovation work. Phew, not closed down.

Anyway, we approached the man for other alternatives for nearby good food and he recommended  us  the Chinese restaurant just across Muhan, called Bee Hiang (茗香).

By the way, I am not asking you to look at Boo in his favorite white-green strips but the decorations of the oriental restaurant! Hahaha.. Very chi-na yet reminded me of the wedding dinners I used to attend when I was young.

Looked at what have we got ! The Bee Hiang Fried Rice which consisted of some prawn meat, crab meat and eggs which tasted really good with the grains well mixed with the ingredients and the wok's taste that lingered in mouth for the longest time.

The prawns rolls plus spicy sausages rolls was one of the must order dish here. I concluded that when I saw almost 70% of the other tables ordered the dish. Well, the skin of the minced prawn rolls were crispy and the prawns meat tasted fresh. As for spicy sausages rolls, the skin were not salty at all, with the minced pork meat well seasoned. The dish was definitely better than most restaurants of the same!

After having enough of the fried and carbo dishes, our only vegetable dish came! It was the stir fried sambal veggies ( I have forgotten the name of the veg). Oily yet luring you to feed yourself more with the veggie! It did not  taste salty at all and you can jolly well eat it alone without any white rice needed to neutralize the saltiness which happened to most sambal veggie dishes.

Oh my..  one of 2nd my favorite dish! Stir fried Cereal Tofu!!!! The cereal tasted crispy and smelt good,  the best combination with the soft tofu. The tofu was quick fried first before cooking with the cereal which made the tofu soft inside yet tough on the outside! Good stuff!!<3

Finally the main lead of the night came! The 3 layered bruised pork slices in steam bun! Yummy yummy, just reminded me of my late grandfather. He could make the world's best "Kong Ba" which made me wanted more despite me not a pork eater. Missed him so much ~~

A great dinner which brought back so much of my younger memories~~ Truly enjoyable dinner with Boo !
