TGIF! Oh yeah, I can finally let down my hair for some fun with Boo tonight. We were thinking of going to Muhan Korean Restaurant to enjoy some BBQ meat and rice wine.
However, we were both so disappointed when we saw the big "Close" signage hanging out from the restaurant . Wild guesses were made between the two of us of what could have happened to our favorite eatery!!! At that point of time, so coincidentally, a man from the next shop told us that the eatery was closing down temporary for some serious renovation work. Phew, not closed down.
Anyway, we approached the man for other alternatives for nearby good food and he recommended us the Chinese restaurant just across Muhan, called Bee Hiang (茗香).
By the way, I am not asking you to look at Boo in his favorite white-green strips but the decorations of the oriental restaurant! Hahaha.. Very chi-na yet reminded me of the wedding dinners I used to attend when I was young.
Looked at what have we got ! The Bee Hiang Fried Rice which consisted of some prawn meat, crab meat and eggs which tasted really good with the grains well mixed with the ingredients and the wok's taste that lingered in mouth for the longest time.
The prawns rolls plus spicy sausages rolls was one of the must order dish here. I concluded that when I saw almost 70% of the other tables ordered the dish. Well, the skin of the minced prawn rolls were crispy and the prawns meat tasted fresh. As for spicy sausages rolls, the skin were not salty at all, with the minced pork meat well seasoned. The dish was definitely better than most restaurants of the same!
After having enough of the fried and carbo dishes, our only vegetable dish came! It was the stir fried sambal veggies ( I have forgotten the name of the veg). Oily yet luring you to feed yourself more with the veggie! It did not taste salty at all and you can jolly well eat it alone without any white rice needed to neutralize the saltiness which happened to most sambal veggie dishes.
Oh my.. one of 2nd my favorite dish! Stir fried Cereal Tofu!!!! The cereal tasted crispy and smelt good, the best combination with the soft tofu. The tofu was quick fried first before cooking with the cereal which made the tofu soft inside yet tough on the outside! Good stuff!!<3
Finally the main lead of the night came! The 3 layered bruised pork slices in steam bun! Yummy yummy, just reminded me of my late grandfather. He could make the world's best "Kong Ba" which made me wanted more despite me not a pork eater. Missed him so much ~~
A great dinner which brought back so much of my younger memories~~ Truly enjoyable dinner with Boo !
