Every morning, especially during weekdays, my breakfast will be a piece of wholemeal bread, glutinous grains' cereal. Are you like me feeling sick having the same routine breakfast almost everyday?  Let's get down to the kitchen and cook some porridge which is healthier than most outside foods.

Ingredients

1 Century Egg
1 Salted Egg
Long Grain Rice
2 cups of water

Actually not many people like the taste of the century egg as compared to the salted duck egg. Some may even wonder what is a century egg and salted egg?  A century egg is also known as preserved (Can be Duck, Chicken) egg and like its name, it is cured with a coat of clay which made up of salt, wood ash and mud. The taste of the egg is sure very unique where not much people can stand it nowadays. But... I love it!!!

As for the salted duck egg, the egg is coated with a thick layer of salted charcoal to preserve the egg, giving it its saltiness.

Clean the rice and boil them into the water till the rice grains are white and soft. In the meanwhile, remove the coats of the eggs and boil them for 15 mins.

You may chop the eggs in wedges or dices if you like it smaller pieces. Well, I preferred mine in wedges. Hehehe... Last but not least, I would sprinkle some pork floss and some dry seaweed bits to my porridge.

Oooh... yeah~

Ever Since I posted the first entry on the recipe's section, I have been slightly obsessed in trying all sorts of cruises. Well, maybe the simpler ones from the internet and slowly improvised to healthier choice.

Nowadays, I tried to whip up dishes such that they can be served as a meal, like lunch or dinner. Still wondering what can I do to present the best to this blog? hahahah...

How do you find it?

Well,, with all the ingredients that were found in the fridge, I have decided to cook the Korean egg roll with spicy tofu meal and a corn soup to fill my stomach for dinner.

So, Let's get started

Ingredients : Sweet Corn Soup

A packet of Silk Tofu, cut in dices
1 Can of Sweet Corn Cream
1 packet of Minced Chicken
2 small packets
 of Chicken Broth

Mix the minced meat with a pinch of pepper, salt and 1/2 tablespoon of cornflour. After mixing the mixture, I rolled them into little meatballs.

Leaving the meatballs aside for awhile, pour the 2 packets of chicken broth and the sweet corn cream into the pot and bring to boil. Whisked the egg and poured into the soup slowly...  finally throw the tofu dices into the soup during the last 5 mins.

Da...da...da...da....da...da....

Now, we can get ready for the next dish, the egg rolls....it is a pretty easy dish, it's just that you need to make sure the omelette was "well rolled". =)))

Ingredients : Korean Egg Rolls

3 eggs
1/2 of the Onion
A pinch of salt

Chopped the 1/2 onion into little dices and whisked the eggs together. Poured some oil into the pan and spread the egg, wait for 1 min.

Using the spatula, flipped one side of the omelette and slowly rolled it to the right side.  Make sure the oil was well spread so that the omelette won't stick to the pan or burned.

Chop chop chop evenly and this should be what you have.

This is Home... Truly ~~   The song sung by Kit Chen had been surrounding in my head for these past few days. Part of the reason was because the radio stations, had been playing National Day songs  all day long. Hahaha..

I don't mind listening to those songs except maybe the more recent ones which are certainly not my cup of tea, well it may be good to include some "young" elements into the music, but the lyrics are kinda of meaningless~~

Anyway, enough of what I thought of the National Day's songs, my real intention is to show some of the best I have got from the NDP preview I have watched with Boo last Saturday.

It was very nice of Boo to specially ballot in order to get those tickets specially for me as I had mentioned to him before I had never watched the NDP and would very much like to watch it. He has always been a sweetie!

Anyway, to get things started, we proceeded to the blue sector indicated on the tickets and got ourselves the goodies pack. Woah.. I was amazed with the many foods and drinks inside which are much better than what we got in big Marathons like Standard Charted etc. There were a lot of people wearing red so Boo and I were the few minorities wearing pink! So both of us decided to wear the little red cap in the fun pack to blend into the crowd. =))

The first program to kick start the National celebration was the air borne performance presented by the Red Lions. It was a pleasure to see a first female parachutist which I felt utterly proud of her.

Coming up next was the showcase of our land, sea and air military strength and was presented by showing us how our equipment will contributed when facing emergency situations.

For example,in case of terrorism, we are well protected and covered with the well equipped police forces, fire fighters , ambulances and..... even tanks...

There was even a small explosion scene at the river to start off for our ships and rode across the platform.

Last but not least, loud noise were heard above the sky where planes flew over our head in different formations and the helicopters flying past, with the Singapore flag flying over the MBS building... Nice ah~

By then, the sky was darker and spotlights at the stage began to slowly lit up with different platoons from selected schools' uniform groups marching in, the armed forces and some local big companies. Marching commends were made and the cannons sounded.  Stimulated MPs began to come in and finally our stimulated Prime Minister. Ahahaha..  The stimulated personnel were very professional, young and... handsome. ahahahaha..

In cooperate with this year's theme, ONE SINGAPORE, there were programs like cycling stunts on stage, persuading dreams was never a dream at all and appearances from our sports' representatives!!

Even the Merlion was made to swim across the Singapore River to the floating platform! And only till then did I know Merlion cannot swim!! wahaha.  A talking Merlion was quite creepy though..

Towards the end of the NDP, we had all the Singapore sports' representatives demonstrating their abilities and I was even surprised that horse polo team were there too, riding on the real horses on the floating platform!!

The most capturing moment arrived with the first fireworks shot up to the sky and more fireworks, green, red , golden colors just filled up the sky....

There were too many fireworks shots I took and of which, these four were the best I have chosen. Well, Boo and I did not stay till the end to take the National Pledge =((  as we want to beat the crowd to get out of the place ~

I still love you, Singapore, deep down in my heart... Happy 48th Birthday!
