Boo and I have been invited to a Karaoke session at the 10 dollars KTV at Ah Hood Road.. hmmm. a very not so convenient place but the main point is the both of us are supposingly the " advisors cum matchmakers" for Boo's friends. haha.. I think I will just stop here before I blah more details out!! shhhh~

Anyway, before proceeding to Ah Hood road, we were almost dying of hunger especially I had to change 3 MRT train routes (North East Line--> Circle Line--> North South Line)  before reaching Toa Payoh Hub. After surveying the place visually, we decided to have some Hor Fun for our dinner!

It is located in the basement food court with a small eatery place of its own. Frankly speaking, there wasn't much of a crowd for an eatery that seem to have a long history behind it. Hopeful it can survive through the fierce competition in the F & B industry.

Boo and I ordered its signature's Gourment Dumpling Soup (small) to share, a Prawn and Chicken HorFun for myself and the Char Siew Wanton Mee for Boo.

See how Boo was in all smiles the moment the server placed all the food we ordered on the table.

The preparation of the Hor Fun is not the same like the famous Changi Village Ipoh Hor Fun I have tried before. The serving was huge with large pieces of fresh chicken meat and 2 unshelled prawns costing $5.80. What further amazed me was that the sauce tasted like some saturated herb sauce, unlike  stalls which have  tasteless sauce and small shreds of chicken meat for $3.50.  IMO, I would definitely choose Rong Ji's HorFun with an additional $2 plus for the taste and portion! <3

The Gourmet Dumpling Soup is no wonder the signature for the eatery!!!! * 100 marks scored for the dumplings! As seen in the picture taken above, the dumpling's filling consists of a whole prawn with pork wrapped around it and not forgetting to mention its thin dumpling skin fit for a King!

The Wanton Mee is not too bad too but i would certainly recommend their Hor Fun and Dumplings!!!

I have been having cravings for glass noodles therefore, I decided to prepare the dish by myself!  To compensate with the super hot weather these days, I have also prepared a cold tofu which is high in protein and most importantly, good for my dieting goal!

I am presenting you the 1st Asian dish I have posted on my Blog! Da la~~~~

Ingredients From the left  (Serve 2 )

200 g of  Sweet Potato glass noodle
100 g of Soy Bean Spouts
102 g of Yi Fong tea mushrooms
1 Japanese Silken tofu
2 tablespoons of Oyster sauce
1 tablespoon of Japanese salad sauce
200 g of grounded chicken
2 carrots
1 stalk of scallion (Garnish)

Fry Glass Noodles

Firstly, remove the glass noodle from package and cook under boiling water for 12 mins. Thereafter, drain the water and cool in running water for bouncy texture.  After all above procedures are done, leave the noodles for awhile.

Get ready to throw the garlic after pouring some oil into the heated wok. Next, pour the chicken meat into the wok till they are slightly cooked and prepare to mix the vegetables. Add a bit of oyster sauce first to enhance the fragrance.  Finally, threw the noodles in and mix everything evenly. Remember to add all the rest of the oyster sauce into the mixture!!!

Cold Tofu

I have went through a few recipes and most prepared the tofu to just be served raw. Well, for me, I preferred to steam the tofu for awhile. So, it will depend on your preference! =)

After steaming for 5 mins in the rice cooker, (yes, it is the rice cooker if you're wondering) put the tofu into the fridge for 15 mins and top up with the Japanese salad sauce and you're almost done!

Add some chopped scallion and Yeah... enjoy the food!

Shake it tonight Babes!!~~~WHOO HOO

Boo has always been a manic for meatballs so the moment I chanced upon this recipe online, I though it is a great chance for me to show off my erhh.. um  cooking skills ( I was actually feeling a bit guilty when typing the "cooking skills")!

This is the dish I have prepared ! Frankly speaking it was my first attempt making it and I did a few alternations to its original recipe.

Ingredients (Serve 2, 11 meatballs)

1 bottle of Bologonese sauce
300g of Macaroni
3 tablespoons of Parmesan shreds
1 can of button mushrooms
276g of minced chicken meat
1 Japanese cucumber
1 egg
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 teaspoon of salt

The blending machine strikes again. I have blended the cucumber first, followed by adding the minced meat, garlic, egg and finally the parmesan shreds. Blending the whole lot of the ingredients added and you got this:

Looks a lot like Avocado drink.. well, I guess it's from the cucumber..

Roll the mixture into little meatballs.

P.S They don't look not so little after all.. =)

Do take note that as I do not have a baking sheet to lay over the baking tray, a piece of aluminum foil was placed over and I applied some margarine onto it. THIS IS TO PREVENT the meatballs from sticking to the surface of the foil.
Preheat the oven at 230 degrees and put in the meatballs to bake for 18 minutes.

While waiting for the meatballs, I went on the preparing the small elbow macaroni and most importantly the sauce.

Bologonese sauce

Pour the entire bottle of the bologonese sauce  and add in the sliced button mushroom. Stir the mixture in slow flames while adding some cheese shreds based on your own preference.

Finally it is time to serve the finishing dish. I have also added some butter head leaves and cherry tomatoes as appetizer.

It's coming to Spring !!!!  Singapore may not be experiencing any of the other 3 seasons except Summer, but I secretly love Spring the most!!! Especially when the fashion trends will be focusing mainly on flowery stuffs.. like THAT!!

Anyway, this inspired me to do a nail art on flowers, which is the QUEEN of ALL FLOWERS, ROSES  -----<@

Let us began the tutorial.

Thing to use (From the left):

Apple green color;GR602;Nature Republic
An Affair in red square;NL 09; OPI
Light pink color; 15;Needme
Bright pink color; 21; Needme
Blue color; BL603; Faceshop
Base coat
Top coat; Sally Hassan
3D green tube
Nail art brush (thin)
Natil art brush (thick)

After applying your base coat, paint all the nails in blue (BL603).

Starting from clockwise direction:

Step 1:  Using the dabbing method, dab the bright pink (21) on the each nail with the nail art brush (thick)
Step 2:  Make out some "c" shapes around each bright pink color with the light pink (15) using the nail art brush (thin)
Step 3:  Repeat step 2 except that this time use white( NL 09) to draw the "c" shapes.
Step 4:  Drip some green color from the 3D tube using the thin brush and draw some "inverted water droplets" at the edges of the roses.
Step 5: Use some light green color (GR602) to enhance the darker green.

Finally you have made roses onto your fingernails!

I have never been a good cook and I'm not sure I will be one someday. Haha.. well, ever since I am determined to lost 5 kg, I have been sourcing through websites and forums for both healthy and delicious recipes. Of which, I found this recipe, shepherd's pie with healthy mash potatoes where I have made some amendments to the dish with some of my favorite foods  instead.

My Belief is Eating healthy doesn't mean you can't have your favorite foods!!!!

I hope it looks appealing to you..=) Let's get started to whip up the dish!!~

Sorry, I know the super imposed cheese and butter pictures were so obvious, but please bear with it as I forgotten to take them together with the rest. =)

Ingredients  (4 servings)

1 slice of cheese
3 small red potatoes
1 small cube of salted SCS butter (Depending on your preference)
1 can of Cream Style Corn with Mushroom
200 g of small elbow Macaroni
350 g of Cauliflower

Preparing Mash Potatoes

Wash and peel the red potatoes while tearing the cauliflower into small pieces.

Boil both the cauliflower and potatoes and get ready for some grinding action! Mummy bought this blender which I must say is very powerful.

It wasn't too long to blend both the potatoes and cauliflower evenly into mash form. Do take note that while blending, you may add the butter bit by bit into the mixture.

Preparing The Filling

Boil the macaroni in water with a pinch of salt and a bit of cooking oil to prevent the macaroni from sticking together.Next, filter the water away.

Mix the can of Campbell (DO NOT ADD ANY WATER) with the macaroni and stir under slow fire.

Next, lay the filling into the aluminum tray and layered the top with the healthy mash potato. Place the tray into the oven at set the at 250 Degree Celsius for 30 minutes.

Hope you all love the Baked Macaroni in Mushroom Corn Cream with Healthy Mash Potato                    (Quite mouthful of words)  I have done!!!!~

I have decided to do a monthly blogging of the favorite stuffs I have tried, used and wore within the month. Haha, it is also part of my scheme to officially splurge on the girly stuffs in order to have new ideas to blog!!!

As you all have known, February was a very busy month filled with celebrations! Starting from the beginning the month, which is the Chinese New Year. It is where once again to get Hong Baos as well as buying new clothes for the new beginning.  I have gotten quite a few dresses, but out of all, I like this the most.

The dress is from Billabong, with small little red flowers prints. What I love most about the dress is it has in-sew pads on the chest area... haha.. which entitles me not to wear any bra when wearing it! Other than that, it is made of 100% cotton which is quite comfortable to wear and you may change the style of the dress by detaching the straps! Bought from Billabong factory outlet, costing SGD 50. Worth the price!

The 2nd outfit I would seriously introduce to my friends with flabby arms will be this:
I fell in love with this outfit the moment I saw it online! Main reason is I do like the blue color, erhh.. and it looks similar to one of the outfit the Duchess of Cambridge wore before when announcing her engagement with prince William . What surprised me is the material is so cooling and stretchable yet you will look very slim in the outfit. Best purchase at only SGD19+ !

Ok, going forward, there are some of the products I loved and adored the most!!!

1. KATE Mascara and eyeliner pencil- These two items came in a set and was given to me as a X'mas present from a X'mas day gift exchange last year. I was still using my Missa mascara till it was used up last month. Hahaha, since then, I tried the Kate mascara and found that it helps to lengthen your lashes when applied. Furthermore, it doesn't form lumps of black residues on the lashes as well as smudge proofed.. (Tested when wearing it during my aerobics class ).As for the eyeliner pencil, I will say it is better than most pencils since it is quite easy to draw your inner lids with it and the color stays on the whole day. No wonder the duo were voted as the most favorite eye make up 2012 on Cleo, the magazine.

2. Revlon ColorStay (High Heels)- I bought this at Watson during Chinese New Year period. What attracts me is its bright pink color ( I think the hot pink is in trend now) and  it has high moisture content compared to some other brands. I have very dry lips--> Boo must kiss me often! so the lipstick is definitely what I will use daily!!

3. Botanics Hair Leave In Volumising Condition- Bought it last year at  BOOTS Bangkok. Well, it's not until recently did I tried it --> feeling quite guilty for being a spendthrift! Anyway, it was one of my bad hair day that I just simply picked the bottle up from my make up tray and hmmm.. the conditioner did help to hold my hair together and my hair doesn't look flatten at all when applied. What amazed me was, my hair looked "voluminousness" throughout the entire day without looking unnatural.

4. Natural Republic Peeling Therapy(Lemon)- Bought this at Malaysia city square, was recommended by the sales person that it serves as an exfoliating gel to gently removing the "excess skin" from my face. Was quite reluctant to try at 1st as my face had been "hurt" by another brand due to the exfoliation beads was too huge. Anyway, I did try using at home and realized that it is really gentle on my face and after exfoliating,  there was no redness on my face nor any burning sensation. My face felt really smooth after the exfoliation!!! Love it the MAX, my saver!~

Hope you all will try on these products and let me know the results! <3<3

The post was supposed to be updated last night, but I was a bit too tipsy to write, therefore it took me till now to blog ~. Why would I post this as "A Fruitful Sat"? It was because I have met three groups of friends within the same day, spending quality time with every of them!!

I am a person who believes in spending the entire day with one group of friends or my boyfriend because I think this will meant showing respect to them/him by ditched everything in order to be with them/him.

Well, I was proven quite wrong with what I have believed in so many xx years!

Through the efforts of Wilson, I finally met AJ after so long... which is a long long story to tell why  a group of very good friends calling ourselves Jiemeis turned to "Long Time No See" friends. At least it was a good start for me to contact my "long lost" friends. We had a very enjoyable morning swim session together...I swam maybe about 12 laps and to be frank, I went morning swim so that I can patch up things with them.. slow and steady.. Well, I really do not want to be a "charcoal" bride by the end of year, but it was worthwhile. Guess what, we will be meeting to swim on next Saturday morning too.. so looking forward to it!!!!

After which, I rushed home in order to be in time for Reyes's baby shower! Had to flag a cab and pick up the girls (Ah Ni and TJ). Reyes is a very chubby and cute little baby..he looks like his father at this moment but who knows he might resemble his mum (JY) in time to come. I got to carry the little one to sleep soundly in my boobs lap.  OOO.. and JY's grand mother in law made the most delicious "Pig Trotter Vinegar Soup" I ever had.(I'm sorry, mum, Yours is the 2nd best in the world). Felt so energetic after drinking the soup and eating the egg... Yummy!
It was about 4pm before I could get to see my love,Boo. The both of us met at Bugis Plus for some healthy fruit juices @ Berrylite before the movie starts.

We chose to watch <OZ the Great and Powerful> (Not much options to choose from) .The plot is unlike what we have known since young. A magician, Oz who was a selfish, heartless man who accidentally entered into the kingdom of OZ where he met Theodora, whom he broke her heart and turned to an evil witch... a twist of events, he met the good wizard, Glinda and helped her seized back the Emerald city... It is a beautiful story, with the bad flee and the good having a happy ending. I love "China doll" and Finley the monkey the most for their roles might be small but yet made the movie more watchable. Of course, the main character, Oz is the one who lead the whole show while Glinda is the least exciting character to talk about tho.

And the final program of the day is Cable Car-ing!! Heard from the radio station that tickets are sold at SGD 13 each with the use of POSB/DBS credit or Debit card,NTUC membership card or Singtel subscribers. Always wanted to take the cable car and enjoying Singapore's view from high above the sky~  Our start point was at Habourfront and alighted at The Jewel Box. The place had the bird's view over the night lights of Singapore island..At the Moonstone, we ordered quite some light snacks with a glass of red Merlot for me and a sake for Boo...Ending the day with smoothing music under the influence of alcohol...

Now, who says we can't organize events and spending quality time within a day for different groups of friends and boyfriend?

After several attempts to arranging this meetup, we finally managed to have lunch at Senki Restaurant.!!! It was just so difficult to arrange a luncheon for 10 people especially we have so much to catch up!

As it was a buffet lunch, the few of us kept wracking the sashimi (Especially Salmon) like nobody's business!! Other than that, my 2nd preferred dish was the cold tofu with sesame sauce / soba sauce.

Would like to comment that the fired tempura and ebi seem very over fried combined with very thick and sweet Japanese sauce. The rest of my friends commented that the cheese baked potato was tasty where the top cheese is toasted till crunchy yet the potato is not mushy.

Almost till the end of the lunch, Neil and Rose suddenly took out a cake out of nowhere..the famous Goldilocks brownies from Philippines!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The few of us each had some important announcements made over the lunch table. Joyin will be having an additional family member by August. Next in line, our handsome yet naggy Nelson had officially a proud owner of a condomium so he will be our next target for our BBQ session! ahaha... And our lovely Lily gotten a job as an clinic manager who looks much cheerful and radiant than before! Love them so so much.. Not forgetting Vivian who has a new hairstyle cut by some korea salon. Suits her really well!

Going on, our two philippino siblings, Neil and Rose are doing extremely well at work and as usual one of the sweetest people I have ever seen in my life. Weizhi, our ex tech service youngest engineer looks great and still searching for the right girl... and finally Gabriel who will be venturing out to Malaysia accounts in his job and Our prettiest Elieen will be getting married next year, and a top sales at her job too.. Love them so much!

Well, I will be organizing the next outing so ... got to rack my brains for next gathering in 1-2 month's time subjected to their schedule. =) Am really fortunate to meet them..
